Kyla & Ben | Wolf Lane, Perth | Engagement Shoot
This has to be my favourite Perth engagement shoot so far. I’ve been wanting to head on up to a roof top carpark for a while and these two were totally up for it! So much space, nobody around and Perth’s cityscape as a backdrop. I just loved it. I’m so appreciative that Kyla and Ben trusted my vision, I’m really pleased with the results.
Looking for the light
I like finding shapes with the light, looking for shadows and texture. Plus capturing the all important connection between these two souls. Kyla and Ben have it in spades! Holding hands, getting in close, wrapping their arms around each other so tight. We also headed down to the popular Wolf Lane and used some of Perth’s famous street art and murals for background inspo. Sometimes when doing portrait sessions you just need to wander about and see what is around you. You can have an idea of what you’d like to capture but until you are there you can never really be sure. It’s this sense of controlled spontaneity that I love. I can’t wait for their wedding – it’s going to be so much fun.
