I have been lucky enough to capture little Will growing up along side my own little bub so it was a pleasure to be asked to capture these of his extended family too. We met in the early morning for these portraits at Lake Monger and grouped together for a few shots with their Family sign under the Willows, then went for a walk along the edge of the lake. These kinds of activities lend themselves to natural interactions and little moments that are precious as they make jokes and play around. Wearing similar themed clothing, while by no means obligatory, unifies them and makes their connections and expressions stand out.

If you’re stumped about where to go for a family photograph, you should definitely think about having portraits at Lake Monger. Willow trees always give a lovely enchanted forest look to the back of the images and you might even be lucky to have a swan or too come your way. There is plenty of space, even in a busy time of day and it’s pretty central to everyone. I loved capturing these images done especially for the matriarch of the family as a mother’s day gift and I’m sure she will treasure them. Will certainly had his fair share of cuddles and it was great to see him with his cousins.

We ended the session with a nostalgic trip to their old family home, recreating a few old family snapshots and creating some new memories. How adorable sitting on top of the letterbox!
